JDRF T1D School Healthcare Summit

March 7, 2020, Indianapolis, IN
11:30 am - 5:00 pm

This event is intended for school healthcare personnel entrusted with the safety and wellbeing of children with Type 1 Diabetes. This could include school nurses, coaches, principles, teachers, etc. who wanted to broaden their knowledge. If you are a family or individual with T1D, the TypeOneNation Summit occuring in the morning is a better fit for you. EVENT DESCRIPTION The JDRF T1D School Healthcare Summit will be a one day program that will provide our attendees with support and knowledge which we believe will ultimately provide healthier outcomes, and fewer short and long term complications resulting in a decrease of hospitalizations, doctor visits and cost of care while improving their daily lives. The goal is that School System personnel will leave the conference with a better understanding of the medical needs of a student with diabetes and the responsibilities for providing appropriate care during the school year. Our hope is this will ultimately improve knowledge and impact the school nurses’ ability to make informed decisions in the school setting. Continuing Education (4 contact hours) are expected to be available for this event, contingent on attendance and pre/post-survey completion.
