A Glimpse At Our Ride To Cure Season!

in ,

We have officially passed the half-way point of the Ride to Cure season and now moving towards our Fall and Winter Ride events! Before we gear-up for our remaining 3 destination events, we want to celebrate all that has been accomplished so far and highlight some of the memories from the first half of the season.

Grand Rapids Ride weekend took place in June where our 5 riders rode in Michigan during a memorable weekend where over $848,000 was raised. The riders had the opportunity to attend training rides with coaches, listen in on educational seminars, and get an update on all the reach that their fundraising goes towards. They truly kicked-off our Ride to Cure season with a bang by raising over $18,000.

La Crosse Ride weekend wrapped a few weeks ago in August where the over 350 riders in attendance raised $2 million, and counting. As a chapter we sent 8 riders, including our coach, Tommy Short. Despite the weather delays and mudslides along the route, our riders experienced a memorable weekend and got to connect with riders around the country, and with their KSMO teammates. They accomplished so much both on and of the course and we continue to celebrate with them in their successes.

Saratoga Springs saw the over 200+ JDRF riders raise just over $1 million for type one research in early September. We are thrilled to be sending one of our loyal riders, Kent Schnakenberg on his Ride adventure as he experiences 4 destinations this season. He represented us in La Crosse and Saratoga Springs and will join us in Tucson and Amelia Island. Next up for our KSMO Ride team is Tucson!

We will close out the Ride season in December along the gorgeous Amelia Island route in Florida. We have 13 riders geared-up and ready to enjoy yet another unforgettable Ride location. We also have a number of riders that participate in JDRF’s MyRide, where they ride independently for JDRF. Follow along on our social media pages to check out their adventures as well!

Even though Fall is here and the end of Ride season 2022 seems to be nearing, there are still lots more memories to be made and funds to be raised for T1D research. Keep following along on our Facebook and Instagram pages and supporting our riders as we inch near the finish line of 2022 and get ready for 2023 launch. Ride on!
