A note from your Executive Director: ‘We are Stronger Together’

While so much feels confusing right now, this much is clear: We are stronger together.

This season is incredibly challenging, and we know you and your family feel this too.

This challenge is unlike any other we have faced. Prior to the Covid-19 outbreak, JDRF was on course for a record-breaking year, both in fundraising and research. The hard work of our board, staff, volunteers, sponsors and individual donors enabled the Kentucky & Southern Indiana Chapter to exceed our goals in the Louisville and Lexington Walks and Galas. Thank you!

We can’t stop our pursuit of a future without type one diabetes, and the more than 3,000 children and adults in Kentucky and Southern Indiana who battle this disease every day need our help.

Last month, our JDRF Board set a goal of raising $30,000 by the end of June. They kicked off this campaign with pledges and commitments of $13,000. Today, more than $20,000 has been raised toward our goal! This includes a generous donation from Down Home Bourbon, a story and picture of which follows. Thank you to all who have given – at every level. If you are in a position to make a gift, we ask that you consider doing so by going to this link.

JDRF is working hard to honor your generosity and ensure that we keep our commitments to funding research. Type One does not stop during this pandemic, and neither will we.

Thank you for standing by us. Know that we keep you and your family in our thoughts and look forward to the day we can meet in person and say thank you for the incredible difference you have already and will continue to make.
