Make an Impact: Fall Volunteer Opportunities

in , , , ,

JDRF was started by volunteers committed to creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D) for their children—and everyone else affected by the disease. Without their vision, it would have been impossible to grow into the organization we are today—or to devote so much time and money to funding T1D research. We celebrate the power of everyone to make a profound impact with their time and talents. Below you’ll find current opportunities for you, your child, and your family to impact our ability to fund T1D research.

Hope Gala Planning Committees

If you have an interest and feel you can make an impact in helping to secure corporate sponsorships and/or Fund A Cure donations, the Gala Executive Committee is for you. Contact Stephanie Stuckey for more information.

Have ideas or leads for securing great auction packages? The Gala Auction Committee is your place! Contact Stephanie Stuckey for more information.

Outreach & Community Engagement

Do you have a passion for supporting caregivers of newly diagnosed children or newly diagnosed adults? You can play a role welcoming, supporting, guiding, and connecting these families and individuals to the larger T1D community and JDRF by becoming an Outreach Volunteer. We especially need bilingual volunteers! Contact Carrie Zager for more information.

Youth Leadership

Are you a high school student looking to make a positive impact within the T1D community? Become a JDRF Champion! The JDRF Champions is an esteemed student-driven fundraising campaign that will take place from October 23 to December 11 this year. All the Champions will be recognized during the virtual Hope Gala program. We are now accepting applications here. Contact Carrie Zager if you have questions or would like to nominate a Champion.

2022 One Walk Planning

Volunteers are needed to support our 2022 One Walk events in the following ways:

  • Day-of event volunteer recruitment/management
  • Making in-kind support requests for event food and beverages
  • Making stewardship phone calls to walk participants

Contact Anna Pishko if you are interested in learning more about these or other volunteer opportunities with the One Walk program.

Join the MAC Ride Team

The JDRF Ride isn’t just about cycling – it’s a global community with an on-going commitment to find a cure for T1D. No matter how you choose to ride, or how far you go, you’ll be surrounded by the T1D community – fellow riders, coaches, friends, and family, cheering you on at every milestone. Join us on the road or on Peloton! Contact Jenny Holmgrain for more information.
