2016 Post-Walk Fundraising Incentive Contest!

blog-post-imageThank you to everyone who participated in and fundraised for this year’s One Walk in Utah!  With your support, we estimate nearly $550,000 is projected to be raised by our collective Provo and Salt Lake Walk fundraising efforts!  This is truly an accomplishment we can all be very proud of!

I am excited to announce that we are officially launching a contest to help close the gap to our budget of $595,000, and keep up the motivation for fundraising even though Walk Day is behind us!  We did a little math, and if each team achieved the goal they set at registration, we could raise nearly an additional $94,000!

This year’s prize structure is AWESOME:

·         Any participant who raises an additional $100 will earn a pair of Zagg earbuds OR a JDRF waterbottle (your choice!)
·         Any participant who raises an additional $250 will earn a T1D Looks Like Me sling backpack
·         Any participant who raises an additional $500 will earn a T1D Looks Like Me sweatshirt blanket
Prizes are cumulative!  Meaning, if you raise $500, you earn all three prizes!

Additionally, we have two pairs of tickets for the December 12th matinee of A Christmas Carol at Hale Centre Theatre, and a $100 American Express gift card.  These prizes will be raffled off – each $100 you raise is an entry in this drawing.  So many chances to win this November!

The contest will run NOW through November 30th (to give our fundraisers the chance to take advantage of National Diabetes Awareness Month), and as such, Walk incentive prize catalogs ordering will be delayed until after the contest (so take advantage of this extra time to raise funds and elevate to the next highest catalog for an even better prize).

Finally, we are extending an opportunity to Earn your V1P recognition (exclusive goody bag and trophy) through November 30th as well.  Get your personal fundraising total up to $1,000 by November 30th and we’ll get you your V1P goodies.  Also, if you missed out on getting a Walk Day t-shirt because you hadn’t reached your $100 in fundraising, we’ll award these as well.  For both of these recognitions, you will need to email Stacey at sbowen@jdrf.org to coordinate.

As always, thank you for everything you do to support JDRF and our mission to cure, treat, and prevent T1D.  It is truly because of people like you that we will one day find a cure!  Contact Stacey at the JDRF office (sbowen@jdrf.org or 801-530-0660) with any questions or concerns!
