Volunteers Needed for Barbara Davis Center Studies

in

The Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, located at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, is actively involved in clinical research. The research division has several on-going studies, as well as ones that are opn for enrollment. These studies are all dedicated to the pursuit of preventing diabetes in high-risk patients as well as clinical intervention with those already diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. The BDC is currently looking for volunteers for the following studies:

  • Middle school students to participate in group appointments through the BDC (in place of regular appointments).  There is no commitment (with the exception of surveys again in ~1 year), and there are no A1c requirements.
  • Volunteers for the FL3X study (starting soon), 13-16 years old with A1c 8-13%.  There is an extensive time commitment over an 18 month intervention.
  • UC-Denver students for a telehealth intervention (starting in the Fall, but recruiting soon) where they will receive routine care through their iPad, iPhone, laptop, PC, etc.
  • Not currently recruiting high school students for group appointments, but we will hopefully be starting a new trial within the next 6-12 months.
  • 9-15 year olds for a national study through the T1D Exchange in the next 6 or so months.  There are no participation requirements.  It only involves the completion of questionnaires.
