Colorado Walk Exceeds Goal!

in ,

Wow – what a year it’s been for the Colorado Walk! We are thrilled to report that because of YOUR passion, dedication, and commitment to creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D), the Colorado Walk fundraising exceeded our goal and raised over $365,000 to accelerate T1D research.

This year still looked a little different than year’s past, but we loved seeing you celebrated:

  • JDRF hosted two in-person community days at the Denver Zoo and the Colorado Springs Switchbacks, giving hundreds of walkers a chance to connect for the first time in-person since the pandemic began.
  • Teams got creative hosting their own Walk Celebrations! From the Courageous Glucose Marvels team walk in their neighborhood, to Syd’s Squad hosting the most scenic 5k to benefit T1D in the US, and Team DCP creating their own Walk Day at Washington Park – it was a year to remember.

Thank you for another incredible year of JDRF One Walk Colorado.

Because of you, exciting things are happening in T1D research. In November, ViaCyte, a JDRF-funded clinical-stage regenerative medicine company, and CRISPR Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing transformative gene-based medicines, announced that Health Canada has approved their Clinical Trial Application (CTA) for VCTX210, a cell replacement therapy for T1D. Advances like this are made possible because of people just like you. Together, we WILL turn type one into type none!

Stay tuned for a special date and venue announcement ā€“ Ā the Colorado Walk will return in-person in fall of 2022!
