Three words that mean so much to the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community and to the mission of JDRF.

JDRF was founded in 1970 with the goal of curing T1D, and we won’t stop until that goal is achieved. But 50 years of T1D research has led us to this pivotal moment – we know what cures are going to look like and the steps required to make them a reality.

Everything we’ve learned in the past 50 years informs JDRF’s research strategy. Created by JDRF scientists, vetted with external experts and approved by a board of volunteers, all of whom have a personal connection to T1D, this strategy is our plan for making the biggest possible difference in the fight against T1D in the next 5 years. From delaying or stopping the progress of T1D altogether to advancing a “first in human” cell therapy to improving outcomes for people with T1D and reducing barriers to access and care, no organization does more for T1D research advancements than JDRF.

But how do we accelerate more research? Our community rallies to Fund A Cure.

Fund A Cure is the pinnacle of every JDRF Gala Signature Event, and in the Mountain West Chapter, it’s a cherished celebration! Ask any of the Gala volunteer leaders, sponsors and supporters – as we move forward with planning our return to the ballroom on Friday, April 21, 2023 it’s the Fund A Cure opportunity that we’re most excited about!

Did you know that 100% of your Fund A Cure contributions go right to our mission? Every single dollar of your Fund A Cure gift drives progress for the people we love living with T1D.

Here’s some important information to know about Fund A Cure:

• Between now and April 11, 2023 (10 days before Gala!), Fund A Cure donors who give $500 or more will be featured on our Wall of Hope, both on our website and at the event.
• NEW this year: we will be featuring your Fund A Cure gift in a special tribute video that will be premiering in the ballroom! This video will highlight who your gift is in honor or in memory of, along with a quote from our Fund A Cure donors.
  • Want your T1D story included in the video? Be sure to secure your spot in the video by submitting your Fund A Cure gift before March 1, 2023 at JDRFDreamGala.org.

There are several ways you can get involved in the 2023 JDRF Dream Gala. For you, it might look like joining the auction committee; volunteering the night of the event; or inviting friends, family, neighbors and colleagues to join you at a table in the ballroom. It might even look like a gift to Fund A Cure, inspired by people you love with T1D and the tangible progress made by JDRF.
