Joni is proud to succeed Nancy May-Skinner as the Chapter’s new Advocacy Team Chair. Advocacy is responsible for renewal of the Special Diabetes Program biannually and mobilizing JDRF’s constituency to call and write their legislators about key issues like CGM coverage, access and affordability of new therapies and more. Joni’s daughter Jeanette was diagnosed with T1D 12 years ago and Joni became involved in Advocacy in 2013. In that time, Joni has been very active in Advocacy, attending numerous Promise to Remember Me meetings with local legislators, JDRF Government Day, and recruiting new advocates as an Advocacy Representative at various JDRF events.

Northeastern Fine Jewelry
Dennis has been a longtime supporter of JDRF. Through his generous donations of stunning jewelry and the Giants Rig to the gala, Dennis has helped raise well over $100,000 through the years. Prior to joining Northeastern Fine Jewelry, Dennis and his wife Cindy worked for 22 years as the founders and owners of Connelly’s Diamond Gallery in Latham.
Director of HR Systems, GE
A dedicated husband and proud father of three, Rob is currently a Director of HR Systems at GE in Schenectady. He enjoys any outdoor activity with his family, loves to cook, and has even been seen competing at BBQ festivals across the Northeast. Rob’s inspiration to join the board of JDRF comes from his son, Spencer, who was diagnosed with T1D at 8 and is now 13 and thriving thanks to advancements like those funded by JDRF.
Dr. Anne Marie Carmichael
Veterinarian, Sand Creek Animal Hospital
Dr. Carmichael has been proudly operating Sand Creek Animal Hospital with her husband Dr. Matthew McDaniel since January 2002. She was an undergraduate at University of Binghamton and completed her veterinary studies at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. In her spare time Dr. Carmichael enjoys reading, cross stitching and during winter months skiing with her son, Alex. Alex was diagnosed with T1D at age 2 and is currently spending the summer working as intern at the Northeastern NY Chapter.
William P. Golderman

William P. Golderman is a partner in the Albany Office of Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP. Mr. Golderman practices in the areas of labor and employment Law, employee discipline, administrative law, civil litigation and professional licensing and discipline. Mr. Golderman served on the Board of the Sidney Albert Albany Jewish Community Center (JCC) for 25 years, serving in numerous leadership capacities, and is active in numerous other community organizations. Billy is well-acquainted with JDRF and has lived with T1D for 37 years.
President, SYSCO Albany, LLC
Mike Pilkington is President of SYSCO Albany and has been with SYSCO in Western Minnesota and Detroit since 2006. He earned his BA from Wayne State University and his MBA from University of Detroit Mercy. Mike and his wife Christina moved to the Albany area approximately 2 years ago, just as his daughter Evelyn was diagnosed with T1D. In that time, Mike and Christina have become actively involved with JDRF. Through Mike’s involvement, SYSCO has been providing generous food donations to almost all of our chapter events, helping to enhance attendee experience and offsetting expenses.
