Bill Lia, Jr., 49, originally from Brooklyn, NY, moved upstate with his family in 1979 when his father, Bill Lia, Sr., chose to pursue an opportunity in the auto business. The company, which started out as a small Honda dealership in Delmar, NY, has grown to a group of 22 locations, now known collectively as the Lia Auto Group, and represents 10 different nameplates with sales of over 30,000 vehicles per year. In addition to the dealerships in Albany, NY, the group has locations in Buffalo, Blauvelt, Brewster and Kingston, NY, Enfield and Hartford, CT, and Wilbraham and Northampton, MA and employs over 1,000 people. Bill and his brothers, Michael and Vincent, along with their father, own and operate the group.

Growing up, Bill worked in the auto business throughout high school and college. In 1990 he graduated from Siena College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. In addition to his involvement with Lia Auto Group, Bill also operates The Lia Group which includes VENT Fitness, Lia Realty Group, BurgerFi restaurants and Lia Group Services. Over the past 28 years he has been involved in every aspect of the businesses, including management, sales and marketing, acquisitions, accounting, finance, fixed operations, advertising, construction, and public relations.

After being in the fitness industry for 27 years, Bill created his own brand of gyms – VENT Fitness. Under his leadership as President, VENT Fitness has grown to 5 locations in the Capital region: Latham, Clifton Park, Niskayuna, Guilderland and a studio concept in Saratoga.

As the principal broker of the Lia Realty Group, Bill oversees the group’s Real Estate transactions, development, and leasing. In addition, in 2015 Bill opened the Capital Region’s first BurgerFi Restaurant in Latham, NY and a secondary location in 2016 in Saratoga Springs, NY.

In 2017 Bill obtained his NYS Insurance Brokers license and opened Lia Group Services, an insurance agency built to support the company’s auto division.

Over the years Bill has served and worked with various boards and committees to further The Lia Auto Group and The Lia Group’s support and involvement with charitable organizations within the community, helping to raise money and create awareness for their causes. Some of these organizations include: Northeast Parent and Child, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis, JDRF and the Wildwood Advisory Board. Bill is a current member of the Board of Directors for the Albany-Colonie Chamber of Commerce and an Arthur R. Kapner Spirit of the Chamber Award Winner. In addition, he was declared “Man of the Year” in 2015 for the Upstate Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and is currently serving for the second time as Co- Chair of their Light the Night Walk.

Bill currently resides in Guilderland with his wife Miranda and their four children Mariana (20), Alexa, (18), and Billy (15), and Anthony (9). In addition to spending quality time with family, he enjoys travel, music, fitness, and golf.
