Join other individuals, families, and caregivers affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) at all life stages for a day of education and connection at the TypeOneNation Summit. Talk to experts about research advances, meet with other attendees, and participate in discussions important to you. Enjoy keynote presentations by Moira McCarthy and Annie Shultz.
While adults attend sessions, kids and teens attend age appropriate breakout sessions and activities. Moira McCarthy hosts a “Teens Only” panel discussion on life with T1D. For children ages 5-12, there is a Kids’ Zone with crafts, yoga, Zumba, and various diabetes education activities. The children’s diabetes education is hosted by Colleen Corey and the St. Rose Dream Fund Clinic. Volunteer nurses are on hand for emergencies and blood sugar checks.
Teens and children join their parents for lunch with carb counts provided.
This free full day diabetes education conference is funded through a generous grant awarded locally by the Anthem Foundation and supported nationally by BD and Lilly Diabetes.
