March Cure Champion

Elizabeth Caswell is from Ann Arbor, MI. Her family began participating in the JDRF One Walk in 2008. In 2017, her family Walk team’s cumulative fundraising surpassed $425,000. Elizabeth chaired the Ann Arbor JDRF One Walk Planning Committee for four years.

Elizabeth joined the JDRF Metro Detroit/Southeast MI Chapter Board in 2014 and joined the Executive Committee in 2016. She is chair of the 2018 JDRF Journey for T1D event in Ann Arbor.

She serves on the JDRF International Research Committee and is a Research Committee Champion for Beta Cell Restoration and Regeneration. She began serving as the Chapter’s Research Information Volunteer (RIV) in 2016 and formed the RIV Committee in 2017.

Elizabeth is a full-time parent and volunteer. She served on the Board of Trustees for Emerson School and on its capital campaign committee. She chaired the Alumni Admissions Committee for Duke University in Ann Arbor. She served on other capital campaigns and advises numerous non-profits on fundraising strategies.

Elizabeth and her husband Trey have three sons. Trey and two of the three boys have had type 1 diabetes (T1D) for a combined 44 years. Elizabeth has a BA from Duke University, an MA in Psychology from University of Texas-Austin, and an MPP from University of Chicago.
