Young Leadership Committee (YLC)

Who We Are:
YLC is comprised of leaders in their 20s or 30s who share JDRF’s mission & passion for creating a world without T1D and who want to volunteer their time to help others affected as well as raise funds for critical research underway.

What We Do:
The YLC provides young professionals interested in networking, advocating, fundraising and spreading awareness of JDRF’s mission an opportunity to focus their philanthropic efforts, meet others and take part in the planning of several social functions aimed at supporting T1D research.

Why Join YLC?

  • Grow social capital & meet like-minded people
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Learn from your peers
  • Build a better resume
  • Volunteer your time  to something meaningful to you
  • Act as a mentor to our teen groups
  • Become future  leaders of JDRF –  Consideration for future role on New Jersey Metro & Rockland County Board of Directors

Why is YLC Important?
The demographic of young professionals is often overlooked and underserved by nonprofit fundraising organizations. What those fundraisers fail to account for is the remarkable value that YP’s bring to nonprofit organizations. Through professional development, networking, advocacy, fundraising and social events, we engage and support our members to achieve greater impact on our T1D community.

How You Can Get Involved:
Serve or Lead a Subcommittee: Invest your time, talent & treasure
OR
Become a Friend of YLC: Attend YLC events or volunteer. Receive information on upcoming YLC events.

We’d love to hear from you!
