Get Involved: National Diabetes Awareness Month

in , ,

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. But, at JDRF, we know that raising awareness and providing education about this disease is so much more than wearing blue in November. For us, education plays an integral role in our work all year long, and we’re proud to serve as a hub of information. Whether it is educating the general public on the differences of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, or providing resources for the newly diagnosed, we work on behalf of the T1D community to make life easier with this disease until we have cure.

We’re hosting a number of chapter and community events this month. Check out our exclusive NDAM Calendar of Events to find one near you.

And remember, there are plenty of ways to raise T1D awareness this month (and beyond!).

  • T1D Champion Challenge: Take the challenge and raise $1,250 in honor of the 1.25 million Americans living with T1D, and receive an exclusive NDAM T-shirt!
  • 2020 Youth Ambassador program: Youth Ambassadors are grade school through high school aged kids who want to use their voice to have an impact within our community. Applications are due 11/15.
  • Celebrate your #T1DChampion: Who’s the #T1DChampion in your life? Share with our T1D Champions. All Day. Every Day. photo filter and the #T1DChampion hashtag on social media.
  • Create your T1D Footprint: How much space does diabetes take up in your life? Create your footprint and share on social.
