The incredible support of our T1D community was showcased at our two signature events, the JDRF Golf Classic held on May 25 and the virtual One Dream Gala held on June 4. These two events not only brought us together, both in-person and virtually, to celebrate the perseverance and dedication of our supporters, they also raised over $900,000 in critical funds to support our mission!

The JDRF Golf Classic was our first in-person event since the onset of Covid and it was a beautiful day on the links. Our Celebrity Golfers – Youth Ambassadors and golf aficionados Connor, Jonah and Gabriella – were out on the course all day interacting with the golfers, teeing off and challenging them in contests. The day wrapped with the Celebrity Golfers in front of the crowd, sharing their stories. The crowd was silent when Jonah put it all into perspective when he said he’s been living behind a mask for longer than he’s lived without T1D. Golfers were also treated to an amazing Fox 5 Sports news clip featuring Connor and his mentor Sam.

Special thanks to our event Chair, Mark Taddeo, and the entire Golf Classic committee for their volunteer leadership throughout the campaign. We hope to see you there in 2022!

One week later, our 2021 One Dream Gala presented by Hackensack Meridian Health was an amazing night of inspiration, hope, and progress. Hosted by music moguls Ray Chew and Vivian Scott Chew, the one-hour livestreamed event introduced us to several newly-diagnosed families, highlighted advocacy efforts, featured healthcare heroes, and concluded with Youth Ambassador Eden coming to us live from her home to announce the live auction winners and the Fund a Cure donors who gave generously to continue our groundbreaking research.
