And the Community Volunteer Award Goes to…

Victoria Godino!

In April, we celebrated National Volunteer Week by thanking all of our wonderful Chapter volunteers and awarding the Community Volunteer Award to Victoria!

Here’s what Victoria has to say about her work with JDRF: “I volunteer at JDRF as a Volunteer Lead for the Youth Ambassador Program because I’m passionate about working with and supporting children with T1D. I am honored to be teaching the Youth Ambassadors how to advocate for themselves, share their T1D story, fundraise, as well as providing them with volunteer opportunities and engaging meetings. It’s a pleasure getting to know the Youth Ambassadors, to encourage them to see the positives in their T1D journey and connect with others who are living life with T1D! JDRF has allowed me to find one of my purposes in getting diagnosed with T1D and build strong leadership skills that will be necessary in my future career of becoming a Special Education teacher!”

We are so proud of Victoria and grateful for her support! Watch what some of the Youth Ambassadors have to say about working with her.
