in

Thank you for breaking records at the JDRF One Dream Gala and helping to raise $1.6M and counting for T1D research.

Throughout the months leading up to the Gala we have witnessed amazing support from this community, through individual giving, corporate sponsorship, auction support and so much more, that culminated with one fantastic event: the JDRF One Dream Gala on May 14.

Itā€™s because of YOU, our supporters, volunteers and guests, that we can make 2022 a year of research, progress and hope ā€“ thank you!

One Dream Gala – Event Highlights

The One Dream Gala evening began with cocktail hour as guests perused the silent auction, enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres, sipped cocktails, purchased golden raffle tickets and connected with friends old and new.

Following cocktail hour, guests made their way downstairs through the Photo Essay ā€œThe Burden They Share: Life with type 1 diabetesā€ and into the ballroom up-lighted in JDRF blue. Our program started with a video from JDRF CEO Dr. Aaron Kowalski, as he shared his thanks and special message for One Dream Gala honoree, Jon Wilk.

Lucas Calhoun, the master of ceremonies welcomed our Executive Co-chairs CEO of Hacksensack Meridian Health, Robert C. Garrett and Ruthi Byrne of Zinn Graves & Field, Inc to the stage!

And, our Executive Director, Taran Connelly, and our Board President, Dave Goodes followed to introduce our honoree, Jon Wilk whose own T1D journey began 16 years ago, when his son Noah was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Jon who serves on our board, and has dedicated countless hours to supporting the T1D community, shared his familyā€™s story.

Our auctioneer kicked off our Live Auction with six unique items to bid on, including a Tuscany villa for 10!

Then, our Fund a Cure speaker, Bela Singh-Sehgal was welcomed to the stage and joined by her mother, Sumita Singh who spoke about her diagnosis and living with T1D. Belaā€™s story inspired so many people in the room leading to an incredible amount of donations made to Fund a Cure.

Euphoric after the total fundraising results were announced, guests ended the evening dancing the night away with the Jersey Shore cover band, The Nerds!
