This year, we are proud to introduce several new features to this exciting event, including a new location, new entertainment, and new auction procedures.

The Gala will take place on Friday, May 11th, at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Sacramento. This contemporary hotel promises deluxe accommodations for those travelling long distances to the Gala, or those wishing to create a weekend experience visiting other local attractions and landmarks, such as the Golden 1 Center, Old Sacramento, and the California State Capitol.  Rooms are limited, so be sure to make reservations soon!  Click here to reserve your room today. Additionally, you can join in on the fun prior to the night of the event, or even from great distances!  This year we are introducing a new, digital auction procedure that will greatly simplify the guest check-in and silent auction bidding process. With our new system, guests will access the silent auction directly from their smartphones via BidPal, allowing them to easily support JDRF while discovering over a hundred exciting deals and products. To maximize convenience, guests are asked to provide a designated cell phone number to JDRF before May 11^th.  You will then receive a link to your personal auction account for the Gala night. In addition, these electronic procedures allow individuals to bid on items from anywhere in the world! If you wish to participate in the auction but are unable to attend the Gala, please contact Stacy Wear at swear@jdrf.org or (916) 576-1380. To avoid lines at check-in, we encourage guests and remote bidders to pre-register their credit cards and contact information. Your credit card will not be charged unless you make a purchase.

As always, this formal evening includes a cocktail reception, presentation of the Honoree award, a live auction, Fund A Cure, and gourmet dinner. However, the 2018 Gala also welcomes the addition of a live band for an after party experience!  Joining us will be the music group Hipper than Hip, Northern California’s premier funk, soul, rock, and R&B horn band. Come enjoy live music and dancing following the evening’s program.
