Join local celebrity athlete Greg Vaughn for a series of exciting events benefiting JDRF! The former all-star baseball player and avid golfer is hosting this year’s Celebrity Golf Tournament and Comedy Grand Slam events on Thursday October 25 and Friday October 26.

The Comedy Grand Slam will kick off the 3rd annual golf fundraiser with a night of laughs. Hosted by Sacramento native Tony Roberts of Showtime, DefComedy Jam, and Shaq’s All Star Comedy Tour, this event features a cast of talented comedians. Joining Roberts on the stage are:

• Buddy Lewis (DefComedy Jam, BET Comic View, Jamie Foxx’s Laffapoloza)
• Alex Thomas (Don’t Be a Menace, BET Comic View, DefComedy Jam)
• Chris Spencer (Don’t Be a Menace, Jamie Foxx Show, Laugh Out Loud Comedy Festival)
• Flex Alexander (Best known for his roles in the films Juice and Snakes on a Plane)

The first annual Comedy Grand Slam takes place at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, at Thunder Valley Casino’s Pano Hall. Both VIP and General Admissions tickets are available.  The VIP experience includes a pre-show reception at 7:00 p.m. with appetizers and drinks as well as an opportunity to mingle with tournament celebrities. The Celebrity Golf Tournament presented by Von Housen Mercedes Benz and Buzz Oates will take place the next day, with a star-studded lineup of athletes to comedians. Celebrities including Vida Blue, Eddie George, J.T. Snow, will accompany each foursome during the competitive tournament at Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln. The winning foursome will compete in a shootout competition and the top two winners of the shootout will advance directly to the Mercedes Benz National Final Tournament at AAA Four Diamond Four Seasons Resort and Club in Las Colinas, TX December 2-5, 2018.
