Invitation from 2019 Fund A Cure Chair

in ,

The inspiration to be a part of JDRF comes from my wife Shannon. It didn’t take long for me to understand the challenges she faced each day managing her blood sugars. Eventually, as our relationship became more serious, she invited me to her endocrinologist appointment. This is when my eyes really opened to the incredible impact type 1 diabetes (T1D) has on the lives of so many.

It was easy for me to commit in serving as this year’s Fund A Cure Chair for the One Party Gala.  On April 27, over 350 people will gather at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Sacramento for the 2019 One Party Gala and will bid on silent and live auction items, enjoy dinner and dancing with friends, and be inspired to continue the work to find a cure for T1D. Guests will be able to make a direct impact in JDRF research progress during the Fund A Cure portion of the evening. Fund A Cure is an opportunity to make an impact on the lives of people living with T1D and their loved ones through a 100% tax-deductible donation, which will accelerate life-changing research.  Fund A Cure donations are invested in JDRF’s research agenda aimed to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until there is a cure.

The next several years mark a critical point in the medical world and our success in achieving ambitious goals relies on the generosity of supporters like you. With your help, we can move T1D treatments from the lab to the community, maintain an aggressive research agenda, and address important medical discoveries as they occur.  As a small business owner, I strive to provide my customers and employees with an exceptional experience.  As a husband and father, I have a similar drive focused on finding a cure to make life easier for Shannon and others living with this disease.

I hope you will join me and hundreds of others at the One Party Gala for a special evening. Even if you are not able to attend the One Party Gala this year, you can still give a gift to Fund A Cure today. There has never been a better time in our history than now to put 100 percent of your gift to research. On behalf of my family and so many others, “thank you” for considering a gift and providing hope to all T1D families!

Sincerely,

Draper Dayton
