JDRF One Walk Corporate Chairs, in partnership with JDRF staff and volunteers, help lead our efforts in accelerating corporate and community support for the Walk. In their leadership role, they connect their business associates and employees with the JDRF mission and with each other. Not only do they rally a Walk team in their own workplaces, but they open up their networks and recruit more participants for our cause.  

We gratefully welcome our Corporate Chairs for the 2021 JDRF One Walk, NorCal: 

Pierre R. Breber, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Chevron 

Pierre R. Breber joined Chevron in 1989 as a financial analyst, and now serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Chevron has supported JDRF since 2007, and became involved with the One Walk, East Bay in 2019 when Colleen Cervantes, former President of Lubricants, chaired the event. Pierre’s connection to type 1 diabetes is close to home as his brother-in-law lives with T1D. Pierre committed to volunteering as the Corporate Chair with no hesitation. In addition to sponsoring the One Walk, Chevron matches all employee donations and will be recruiting walkers from around the world. This incredible company is bringing the fuel to get us moving! Sam Chung, Executive Vice President of Finance & Strategy, Salesforce, and CFO, Salesforce.com Foundation 

Sam Chung has worked at Salesforce since 2006 in various roles but is currently the Executive Vice President of Finance & Strategy at Salesforce & CFO of the Salesforce.com Foundation. He first became involved with the JDRF One Walk in 2017 when Mark Hawkins, Former CFO of Salesforce, Chaired the One Walk, San Francisco. What started with donations to the Salesforce walk team, has grown over the years with the surprise news of his own diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. Soon after that life changing news, he signed up once again to lead a team of Salesforce walkers. This year, Sam agreed to serve as the Corporate Chair, but only under the condition that this is the biggest year ever for Salesforce fundraising. Sam hopes to break the record with a $500,000 goal, through fundraising, sponsorship, personal donations, and matching gifts. We are so thrilled to have him on board!
