FDA Clears a New Artificial Pancreas System
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared the iLet® Insulin-Only Bionic Pancreas System, which is designed to autonomously determine and deliver insulin doses to control blood-sugar levels, for people 6 years of age and older with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The iLet system is designed to have users enter only their weight for the iLet to initialize therapy. Read more.

JDRF Game2Give Leaders & Founders to be Honored at 2023 Hope Gala
As we near Father’s Day this month, we’re thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2023 JDRF Hope Gala Impact Award – the JDRF Game2Give Leaders & Founders. Initiated by several passionate T1D dads, JDRF Game2Give is a global program which brings gamers, streamers, and developers together to raise awareness and funds for T1D. We can’t wait to honor this visionary group at the Hope Gala on September 30 at The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco.  Read more.

Congratulations to Jeffrey Bluestone, Ph.D., for Election to the National Academy of Sciences
The JDRF congratulates longtime JDRF collaborator Jeffrey Bluestone, Ph.D., for being elected to the National Academy of Sciences, in honor of his pioneering work on the immune system. Dr. Bluestone is President & CEO at Sonoma Biotherapeutics, and Distinguished Professor at UCSF. JDRF has funded his innovative work since 1997, including the development of Tzield to delay the onset of T1D. Read more.

JDRF Mourns the Loss of Chara Schreyer, Passionate JDRF Supporter and T1D Champion
It is with heavy hearts that we honor the passing of Chara Schreyer, an extraordinary woman who was a dear friend to JDRF and a true T1D Champion. Chara passed away in February of this year, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, passion, and unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Read more about Chara Schreyer.
