JDRF Greater Western Carolinas would like to highlight our Superhero Supporter for the month of April, LabCorp. LabCorp is a Charlotte 2020 Walk sponsor and has given great support to JDRF over the years. LabCorp has also been greatly involved in the COVID-19 testing process and we wanted to show them our thankfulness and gratitude for all they are doing to help the community.

LabCorp and JDRF:

As far as helping the T1D community, LabCorp has been supportive of JDRF for over 20 years, and has been involved with our chapter since 2019. LabCorp first started walking with our Greater Western Carolinas chapter at our Charlotte One Walk last year and has been a dedicated supporter and sponsor since. LabCorp brought a great group out to our Walk at Carowinds last year and their team members were excited, dedicated, and wanted to help out the type 1 community in any way they could.

Last year’s Charlotte LabCorp Team Captain, Pat Niski, stated,

“LabCorpā€™s mission is to improve health and improve lives.Ā  I donā€™t think there is anything more rewarding than being able to give back to those in our community affected by T1D.”

We are incredibly grateful for their support to JDRF and the many T1Ds, volunteers, family members, and friends impacted by or living with type 1 diabetes.

We’d also like to thank LabCorp for their response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

LabCorp continues to play a vital role in supporting the public response to COVID-19 and has moved quickly to increase its testing capacity by adding staff, equipment and more high-throughput testing. The company is working continuously to support the needs of healthcare workers, patients, government, clients and other organizations, and expects capacity to continue to increase.

ā€œLabCorp colleagues around the world are working tirelessly alongside our industry partners and governmental and health authorities to increase testing and capacity,ā€ said Adam Schechter, president and CEO of LabCorp.
