Dear JDRF Families,

Each year many individuals or families impacted with type 1 diabetes choose to contribute either a gift basket or a single item that JDRF can package with other things, to help raise important dollars that will continue our efforts to improve lives and cure type 1 diabetes.

We don’t take this responsibility lightly… As with everything JDRF does, it’s a team effort! That’s why we are asking you to consider contributing to this year’s gala auction. Below are a few ways you can participate. And, if you do choose to participate, would love you to complete the attached form that tells us a bit more about you and/or your family, along with a photo, so we can share your story by the auction item on gala night. This also helps tell the T1D story to guests on gala night who may not have a direct connection to type 1 diabetes by painting a picture of those impacted.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. Would love to hear from you on whether you intend to contribute or not so we have an idea of how big our “army” of helpers will be. Just send me a note and let me know “yes, we will participate” or “no, not this time.”

If you choose to participate, all auction donations are requested to be turned in to JDRF by October 5^th, 2019.

If interested, below are some ways you could help contribute to the JDRF Gala Auction:

2. Think about where you dine, shop, get services…. Ask them to make a donation to JDRF in your honor. (Attached is an auction donation sample letter and form you can provide them to help ensure we promote their donation appropriately).
3. Put together a package that represents you and your family’s interest. For instance – fishing, beach, technology, dining out, concerts, photography, cooking – Attached is a sample list of baskets that have done well in the past to get your creative juices flowing. If you do decide to do a themed package, let me know and we’ll put your family’s name by that theme so someone else doesn’t have the same idea.
4. Live Auction – If you, your company or family have connections to any type of unique experience, travel, something with a “wow” factor and are willing to contribute, we would love to talk to you! We are working on creating an amazing array of 8-10 live auction items to showcase during the gala and always need help! (Some past successful items have included: Chef’s in home experience, Behind the Scenes of the TODAY Show experience, Macy’s Parade, African Safari Trip, Air BnB rental for a week in a fun location, Private plane to Bahamas, Fishing trip)
