November is National Diabetes Awareness Month

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. But for JDRF, raising awareness and providing education about this disease is so much more than wearing blue in November. For JDRF, education plays an integral role in our work all year long.  We act, in part, as a hub of information. Whether it is educating the general public on the differences of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, or providing resources for the newly diagnosed, we work on behalf of the T1D community to make life easier with this disease until we have cure. Our vision of a world without T1D cannot be accomplished by funding research grants alone so we also fund work to educate people you may not think need it. JDRF invests resources toward clearing the way for new T1D products and devices so they can get into the hands of people in the community as soon as they are ready. This means better defining regulatory pathways, working with health insurance plans to provide adequate coverage, and educating healthcare providers. We can only do this work because of the ongoing commitment and support from you. So this November, think about how you can raise awareness of the disease in your own network and how you can continue to support JDRF in doing the same thing!
