Texas Runners in the TCS New York City Marathon – Nov 7

in ,

Every year participants from around the world gather to run through the streets of New York City for the annual TCS New York City Marathon. Our runners will be lacing up their sneakers on Sunday, November 7 to help bring us closer to our finish line—a world without T1D!

From Dallas, Argyle, and Austin, TX, the JDRF North Texas and Oklahoma Chapter is proud to support the following marathon runners and fundraisers for everything they are doing for the type 1 community:

Benjamin Breuning, Leigh Breuning, Andrew Carrier, Allie Koening, Craig Koening, and Medora Koening.

This will be Leigh Breuning’s FIRST NYC Marathon!

“It’s my first Marathon! As a type 1 diabetic for nearly 18 years, I am thrilled to be running this race to raise research funds and awareness for JDRF. I also want my kids to see that we can be joyful despite our circumstances and tackle hardship before us.” – Leigh

The Koening family is running for Collin Koening! This will be Medora and Craig’s first time racing for Team JDRF and Allie’s second time racing for Team JDRF (and certainly not the last!) Allie has her eyes set on Berlin, Chicago, and London as well! Go Team Koening! #wehatethebetes

Andrew Carrier runs for his daughter, Mckinley, who was diagnosed with T1D on Sept 18th 2017. This will be his first time running the NYC Marathon for Team JDRF.

We are beyond proud, and grateful for your support of JDRF and the discipline it takes to conquer a marathon!
