Here at the New York City Chapter, we recognize that the young leaders in our community are such a vital part of our organization.  Meet Jon Stopol, President of the Young Leadership Committee (YLC) (Left) and Andrew Mika, Executive Vice President (right); two dedicated and hardworking committee members who have proven their commitment to JDRF.

During a Re-Launch of the YLC this past year, Jon and Andrew came to the committee with a vision to get more young professionals involved and to focus the group’s efforts on raising funds for JDRF, by hosting more 3^rd party events.  The YLC has made tremendous progress, as they went from a committee of 10 to a committee of over 25 active members, who are dedicated to JDRF and the YLC.  They are leading new 3^rd party fundraising events and working hard to make their signature event, One Night (this year on April 30^th) a success.

It is the commitment of strong volunteers like, Jon and Andrew that add to the achievements of JDRF’s New York City Chapter and we commend them for their efforts in turning Type One into Type None.
