The Greater New York City Chapter of JDRF announces Richard Hartell, Global Chief Strategy Office of Publicis Media as the 2020 JDRF One Walk®, Hartell will partner with JDRF staff and volunteers in engaging our business community and the community at large in supporting this year’s Walk.
On Tuesday, August 11, 2020 the JDRF Greater New York City Chapter kicks off it’s annual JDRF One Walk® virtually. Aiming to raise more than $2 million to help fund critically needed type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, the event, organized by JDRF Greater New York City volunteers, is expected to attract local supporters, including teams representing local businesses, families, schools and other organizations.
JDRF priority has always been the safety and health of our community. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to follow national recommendations and do our part to help slow the spread. No matter where you are, you’ll be surrounded by the T1D community cheering you on every step of your journey. We welcome everyone to join JDRF for an amazing nationwide celebration of coming together to change the future for everyone living with this disease.
The JDRF One Walk is the largest and most powerful peer-to-peer fundraising program in the world for T1D. It is comprised of a community that is dedicated to supporting the millions of people living with T1D each and every day. Whether they have a direct connection to the disease or not, everyone who joins the JDRF One Walk is united and passionate about showing their support in accelerating life-changing breakthroughs that get us closer to a cure and providing hope to those affected by T1D.
Now more than ever, the JDRF One Walk isn’t just about walking — it’s about being a community and our commitment to finding cures for T1D. Join us as we walk together to support the 1.6 million Americans living with T1D that we will, and always will, walk the distance for.
By November 1, 2020, we will commit to walking 1.6 million miles with the collective goal of raising $50 million dollars to commemorate JDRF’s 50th anniversary. Leading up to JDRF One Walk Day, you set the pace, the place and the number of miles to walk, teaming up with friends, family and colleagues from all over, while raising critical funds to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs for type 1 diabetes. Then, on November 1st, we will unite as one community to celebrate what makes One Walk Day so special – our stories, collective accomplishments, and the celebration of coming together to change t
