JDRF One Walk

in ,

Over the last three weeks, JDRF Oklahoma has been busy! We are heartbroken that we could not all be together, but we did the next best thing and hosted to virtual One Walk events.

On April 4, families, friends, and corporate partners in Green Country got outside and active in support of JDRF. We were incredibly lucky to have Hilti and Karl Neumaier chairing the event, along with the financial support received from Matrix Service Company, TTCU, Crossland Constutrction, Luxa, and Hogan Assessments.

Our top family team was Tessa’s Team, led by Tessa Beil. Also making an incredible impact were Taylor’s Troops and Team Ellie. The spirit of community and friendship was really touching and we had a wonderful day participating with you all.

On April 18, the OKC One Walk took over Facebook and Instagram. The event was chaired by Jenn McCarty, who also helped raise over $5,000 for her team Peace Cure Emma. JDRF received corporate support from TTCU and had 12 V1P teams raising over $1,000. Our top school team was the OU Delts, who raised an incredible $15,535 and the top family team was Hope Ashcraft’s team Still Walkin.

The day saw features from Trish Winters, who leads advocacy for CD 3, 4, and 5 in Oklahoma, as well as a special message from local Pediatric Endocrinologist, Dr. David Domek.

Overall, the day was absolutely perfect and we loves seeing all of you sharing why JDRF One Walk is so meaningful to you.

We are so eager to see you all in person again soon. There will be email and social media communication when we are able to schedule a proper celebration. Until then, keep sharing with us how you are staying active and showing up as a T1D Champion.
