JDRF Launches Application for 2020 College Internship Program

New York, December 17, 2019—JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, has announced applications are open for JDRF’s College Internship Program.

Every summer, JDRF coordinates an immersive, six- to eight-week summer internship in a diabetes-related field for undergraduate and graduate students living with T1D. Participants must be a current, full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate program and have successfully completed at least one year of course work. Participants must have lived with T1D for at least one year. The program is a competitive opportunity designed to develop and train students to become leaders in the diabetes community.

Opportunities are available in JDRF departments including Advocacy & Government Relations, Business Operations & Management, Communications & Marketing, Research & Science, and Technology. JDRF will match prospective interns with the appropriate sector.

Applications are now live, due on January 14, 2020.

Timeline for the program is as follows:

  • January 14, 2020 – Application deadline
  • January 24, 2020– Intern finalists notified
  • February 2020 – Finalists interviewed by host sites
  • March – April 2020 – Internship offers
  • June 2020 – Internships begin
  • August 2020 – Internships conclude
