Now Accepting Applications for 2019 Youth Ambassadors
The JDRF Rocky Mountain Youth Ambassador program helps children and teens living with type 1 diabetes share their stories and learn to advocate and raise funds for T1D in their community.
Requirements:
- Have type 1 diabetes
- Be between the ages of 5 and 17 years old (as of Feb 1, 2019)
- Have good attendance and grades in school
- Be willing to share your story (or learn how to) with the local community at events, fundraisers, and through various media opportunities.
JDRF Youth Ambassadors must agree to attend JDRF events throughout the year including but not limited to:
Type One Nation – March 2, 2019
JDRF Dream Gala – April 13, 2019
JDRF Summer Picnics – June/July date TBD
JDRF One Walks – Denver or Colorado Springs – Fall
JDRF Youth Ambassador meetings – 3 per year
JDRF Youth Ambassadors are the local face of JDRF Rocky Mountain and have opportunities for public speaking, including interviews on television news or local radio. There are three officer positions: President; Vice President; and Historian. Officers help coordinate events, create the gala art piece, and serve as leaders and examples for the youth ambassador team and youth at all JDRF events.
