In Loving Memory of Jan Nassivera

Jane Ann (Jan) Nassivera, who was born and raised in Hanover, died suddenly on Sunday, November 20, at her home in Boca Raton, FL. She was 59. The cause of death is pending. Ms. Nassivera had juvenile diabetes since she was a young woman.
Born on November 8, 1957, Jan was the daughter of Jean Forsythe Nassivera and John William Nassivera. She graduated from Hanover High School in 1975 and worked for several years for the Bank of Hanover at its Carlisle Street and York Street offices. In 1984 she moved to Boca Raton, where she graduated from the paralegal program at Florida Atlantic University. She completed advance course work in commercial lease negotiations at Georgetown University Law Center and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
During her career, she handled leasing transactions totaling more than six million square feet for landlords and tenants, including Fortune 500 companies, national banks and law firms and owners of medical office parks throughout Florida and the southeastern United States. In addition to commercial leasing, Jan was experienced in title review and analyses for complex commercial acquisitions and dispositions.
At her death, Jan was a real-estate consultant in the Fort Lauderdale office of the Gray-Robinson law firm. Prior to that she was a real estate consultant for the Akerman-Senterfitt law firm in Fort Lauderdale and a corporate paralegal and lease negotiator for Stiles Corporation, a commercial land developer.
Jan was active in South Florida’s professional and civic life. She was president-elect of the Fort Lauderdale/Boca Raton chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) network and a board member and past president of the South Florida Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
Jan’s father died in 1987. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister, Joan Page Nassivera of Fort Lee, NJ; a niece, Amy Nassivera Thanasides and her husband, Anthony Thanasides of Washington Township, NJ; and a grand-nephew and grand-niece, George Anthony Thanasides and Louisa Jean Thanasides of Washington Township.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, December 2, at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover, with a memorial service at the funeral home to follow at 11 a.m. Burial, at Rest Haven Cemetery, is private. A memorial service in South Florida will be held in early 2017.
