PR/Marketing Internship

The Southern Florida Chapter is looking for a PR/Marketing Intern to assist the chapter staff in a variety of projects.

 

The PR/Marketing Intern will work closely with the JDRF staff to prepare for and assist in the marketing and execution of various JDRF fundraising events and outreach programs, as well as assist with the Chapter’s social media, newsletters, website and other online applications. Yearly events include the annual Gala, the JDRF OneWalk, and other events. Interns will be expected to provide support to staff and volunteers with these various events as needed. This includes assisting with pre-event and on-site coordination, event marketing, and monitoring event progress.

Qualifications
Applicants should have/be:

  • Superior organizational and time management skills
  • Excel working independently and seek to grow as professionals
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with basic graphic design
  • Familiarity with social media
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and a willingness to learn
  • Prior non-profit experience is preferred

Responsibilities
Interns will have the opportunity to take a leadership role in a key project that will include:

  • Plan and implement strategy and improvements to the chapter social media to effectively communicate JDRF’s message and provide clear opportunities for donor engagement.
  • The PR/Marketing Intern will work closely with the JDRF staff to prepare for and assist in the marketing and execution of various JDRF fundraising events and outreach programs, as well as assist with the Chapter’s social media, newsletters, website and other online applications. Yearly events include the annual Gala, the JDRF OneWalk, and other events. Interns will be expected to provide support to staff and volunteers with these various events as needed. This includes assisting with pre-event and on-site coordination, event marketing, and monitoring event progress.
  • Opportunity to gain event planning, marketing and management experience involved with fundraising. JDRF offers a variety of opportunities to learn and get involved. All event proceeds support research to find a cure for diabetes.

 

Interns are expected to work 15-20 hours per week, with dates and times flexible. Internships are unpaid, but could receive academic credit or work study for their work with JDRF. Please ask your home institution for more information on academic credit approval and policy.
