Each year, the JDRF Southwest Ohio chapter hosts a variety of fun, family-friendly events designed to educate, build awareness of type 1 diabetes (T1D), and provide social opportunities for those living with T1D. Check our events calendar for a complete listing of current events, including outreach activities.

• National Diabetes Awareness Month (NDAM) – November is NDAM and is celebrated to raise awareness of all forms of diabetes, its signs and symptoms and to gain support for critical research toward preventing, better treating and curing forms of the disease —including both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. November 14 is celebrated as World Diabetes Day.
• TypeOneNation Summit – The Southwest Ohio Chapter of JDRF is proud to host this annual event, which is a vendor fair and educational event. The Summit provides a vendor fair full of events, informative sessions and support groups from across the tri-state for those affected or connected by type 1 diabetes. This is a FREE event, open to all members of the T1D community.

Newly Diagnosed

JDRF Southwest Ohio provides, upon request, to newly diagnosed T1D children a Bag of Hope and for newly diagnosed adults a T1D Care Kit. These resources include a complimentary bag/backpack filled with supplies and educational information to help those newly diagnosed cope with T1D and to provide them with a variety of support resources. T1D Connections Program

The JDRF Southwest Ohio chapter provides a program for those recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes with the purpose of connecting you with families and adults who have been living with T1D for a longer period of time. If you would like to participate in this free program and be paired with a Outreach Volunteer, please complete this online form. Once your form is received, JDRF will pair you with a suitable match, and you should hear from him or her within 2-4 days.
