Western PA One Walk Recap

in

Another amazing One Walk season is in the books here in Western PA! We are so thankful to reminisce on two incredible Walk Days this year.

The Pittsburgh One Walk was held first on September 21st at Flagstaff Hill at Schenley Park. Over 4,000 walkers (and their furry friends, too!) joined us for an amazing day filled with fun, friends, and steps to end T1D. The very next week, we held the Westmoreland One Walk on September 28th at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. It was a beautiful day where we welcomed over 2,000 walkers for fun-filled morning! We are so thankful to everyone who joined us at both walks. Two weekends filled with love and support for those living with T1D ā€“ thank you SO much!

While the Walks are both over, fundraising doesnā€™t have to stop! In fact, we are currently over $100,000 away from our goal for our chapterā€™s Walk of hitting $1 million for T1D research.

You can continue to fundraise the whole way until June 2020! Some of our most successful fundraising events include school walks, school fundraisers, sneaker sales, and getting businesses involved.

Thank you again to each person that contributed to our One Walks! Whether you were a walker, team, corporate sponsor, volunteer, or donor: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Each year, it gets more and more inspiring to see the time and effort toward one common goalā€”creating a world without type 1 diabetes. We’ll see some of you soon for Walk Awards and more! THANK YOU!
