We Are Still Walking Virtually! Join us on June 14th.
Even though we cannot walk together in-person, we encourage everyone in the community to join us for JDRF Buffalo’s 1st Virtual One Walk (#BuffaloOneWalk), taking place on our Facebook and Instagram pages. You can join a team or create a team by registering here! There are some really fun contests coming up with chances to win e-gift cards to places like Amazon and Door Dash as well as fun activities, like our Spring Coloring Book, while you’re staying home and staying safe. We also offer the opportunity for the corporate community to partner with us through customized sponsorships. For updated information on the virtual Walk as well as sponsorships, visit the JDRF Walk Page. Let’s walk together to create a world without T1D – we are #StrongerTogether.

Fun Walk News!
This year will be Buffalo’s first ever Virtual Walk on June 14th in addition to the 30th Anniversary of the walk and 50th for the organization! We want to share all the amazing and fun things you, your loved ones, T1D champions and community are doing to raise awareness for type one diabetes, leading up to the Walk and on Walk day.
As we get ready to unveil contests and fun and creative activities to do together, we would like to showcase videos and photos from all our Walk teams and participants on social media, so get ready to make some cool videos and take some group shots to share with the Western New York T1D community!
Here’s how to get involved:
Design a poster featuring your Walk team name and use our hashtags if you’d like, (#StrongerTogether and #BuffaloOneWalk).
a. Use your poster in a 30sec-1min video highlighting some of these topics
– What fun things do you want to do on Walk day?
– What does JDRF mean to you?
– Why do you Walk?
b. Take a photo with your loved ones featuring your poster.
Please submit all entries (you can do both!) to firstname.lastname@example.org along with your Team Name. We can’t wait to share your stories on our Facebook and Instagram!
Coronavirus and Type 1 Diabetes
Worried about COVID-19? Don’t panic: Here is the latest information and recommendations for people with type 1 diabetes, from the experts. Whether it’s information about the disease or information on how someone with T1D should handle managing their diabetes with a viral illness, helpful information can be found on our Coronavirus page on the JDRF website. JDRF has also created another wonderful resource for parents and caregivers, a Parent T1D Newsletter, to help navigate parenting a child with type 1 diabetes (T1D).
We are here for you!
While we are not working in the office, we are still reachable for anything you need. Our voicemails are checked daily and you can also email email@example.com. Please stay safe and healthy!
