• Walk is officially NEXT MONTH! We’ve been busy planning both Pittsburgh and Westmoreland Walk Days and we’re so excited to see everyone on September 21 and September 28!

• Have you told us why you walk yet? We’d LOVE to hear your story! To submit ‘why you walk’, visit this link and share your short story with us. Our goal is to have every single team share their ‘why I walk’ story this year. Once you submit, you may be featured on our social media pages!

• In the coming weeks leading up to Walk Week, stay tuned to your emails and JDRF Western PA social media accounts – we’ll have several One Walk fundraising contests coming up! By fundraising, you can win some pretty cool stuff including Pirates tickets, gift certificates, JDRF swag, and more.

Walk Kickoff Wrap-Up

Last month, we officially kicked off JDRF One Walk in Western PA – we had so much fun celebrating the official kick off to JDRF One Walk at the National Aviary! Thank you to everyone who joined us for an awesome morning full of connecting with our fellow Walk teams, sharing fundraising tips, and talking about why we walk. Special thanks to our awesome fundraising panel including Kara Stenger of Ethan’s Entourage, Tracy Sherbo of Nick’s Planet Warriors, Joe Seifried from JoeNation, and Tiffany Merovich-Winter from Merovich Marchers!

Fundraising Spotlight

Need some fundraising inspiration as we head to the final stretch before Walk Week? Team Mason, a team participating in our JDRF One Walk in Pittsburgh, banded together to hold the cutest lemonade stand last month. It’s their very first year walking and as of now, they have raised $5,420 with more to go! Thank you, Team Mason!
