Important Update: JDRF Events

in , ,

NOTE: As of March 17, JDRF President & CEO Dr. Aaron J. Kowalski has announced that JDRF is taking an even bolder step to protect the health and safety of our community by not holding any in-person events through June 30. We will instead reimagine these events, taking a variety of approaches to share progress and engage with each other through creative and virtual gatherings.

We are continually updating the T1D community through our website, JDRF.org, sharing information on how to stay safe, and how to best manage T1D if you do develop this or any other serious virus.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING JDRF EVENTS AND THE JDRF WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA OFFICE:

We have been closely monitoring the national outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The situation locally is changing very quickly, and we have made the difficult decision to postpone all JDRF events through April 19th, 2020 out of an abundance of caution for the health, safety, and well-being of the JDRF and type 1 diabetes community. This includes the upcoming JDRF TypeOneNation Summit, the 2020 Promise Gala, and all surrounding events.

The Summit has officially been rescheduled for November 7th, 2020 and our Gala has been rescheduled for October 16th, 2020. Please stay tuned for more details and updates about these events as time progresses.

Also, out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of the JDRF staff, the JDRF Western Pennsylvania office is closed until further notice. All staff members have access to JDRF systems and are here to help during normal business hours.Ā

We encourage everyone to refer to the CDC website at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov for everyday actions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to visit JDRFā€™s website at www.jdrf.org/coronavirus for tips on managing T1D when you or your loved one are sick. JDRF is committed to providing education and support to all individuals and families impacted by T1D during this unprecedented time. Thank you.
