The sun is starting to shine a little brighter and temperatures are beginning to climb, which means outdoor cycling season is right around the corner! Team Western Wisconsin, otherwise known as the Honey Badgers, is still looking for new or veteran riders to join in the fight against type 1 diabetes (T1D) and register for the 2019 JDRF Ride to Cure season.
The JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes is a charitable bike ride that to date has raised over $47 million for T1D research. The Ride gives cyclists of all ages and skill levels the opportunity fundraise for JDRF, the global leader in T1D research. There is no biking experience necessary when you join the Ride; once you register, you will receive coaching from USA Cycling certified coaches and have the support of more than 100 teammates who will help you succeed. However, the Ride is about more than biking, it is a weekend-long celebration of the resilience of the T1D community and we hope you will join us!
The 2019 JDRF Ride season includes five different location options:
- La Crosse, WI: August 8 – 11
- Sonoma, CA: August 22 – 25 (NEW LOCATION – SOLD OUT)
- Saratoga Springs, NY: September 12 – 15
- Amelia Island, FL: October 3 – 6
- Death Valley, CA: October 17 – 20
If you have questions about the JDRF Ride, please contact Jen Allen by phone (608.833.2873) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org). We hope to see you in a Honey Badger jersey soon!
