On February 1^st, 2020, we held our annual Winter Gala for the Western Wisconsin chapter in La Crosse, WI! The event, held at the Waterfront Tavern, was a huge success, and had over 200 attendees present. The event raised over $152,000 toward finding a cure.

This year’s Fund A Cure Youth Ambassador was Sophie Bisek, who gave a fantastic speech fitting with the theme about how all Type 1s are superheroes, fighting against their “evil pancreas”. Also fitting with the theme, all the Type 1s at the event were given capes to celebrate their superhuman abilities.

We’d like to thank Chuck and Mary Kulas, who donated two auction items, along with a $5,000 match for Fund a Cure. The challenge raised over $13,000 for the event, all of which will go toward finding a cure for our superheroes.

Thank you, also, to the La Crosse Community Foundation, who donated $6,250 on behalf of the Charles F. Mathy Fund, to Vince and Amy Stodola, this year’s host couple, and to Cheryl & Ward Brown, M.D., some of our platinum sponsors.
