The JDRF Wisconsin Chapter is thrilled to announce our delegates who will be representing our chapter at the 2023 JDRF Children’s Congress: Silvia Hayden, Mira Joshi, Meredith Meidl, and Talon Zuelsdorf!
Every two years, more than 150 children living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) gather in Washington, D.C. to meet face-to-face with some of the top decision-makers in the U.S. government. The children, ages 4 to 17, represent all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The delegates in JDRF’s Children’s Congress enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help Members of Congress understand what life with T1D is like and why research to fund life-changing therapies until a cure can be found is so critical. They speak up on behalf of the millions of people living with T1D and the families and friends who love them.
This year is special because it will be the first year JDRF gets to send delegates since 2019! Our delegates are so excited to be able to share their stories with Members of Congress as well as meet other students with type 1 from all over the country. What all of our delegates have in common is their goal of educating more people on type 1 diabetes and changing the world. Some of our delegates even want to grow up to become politicians themselves!
Children’s Congress will take place July 9-11 in Washington D.C. Watch our social media pages and blog to be kept up to date on what our delegates are doing! To learn more about the program itself, visit cc.jdrf.org
