JDRF Hope Gala honors Donna and Andy Cash with the Barbara and Duke Roos Living and Giving Award

in ,

Every year an individual, couple or family is presented with the Georgia Chapter’s top honor, the Living and Giving Award. Two years ago, to help commemorate the 20th anniversary and forever solidify their longtime commitment to JDRF, the award was re-named after Barbara and Duke Roos, the first recipients of this award 11 years ago. Others among the impressive list of past honorees include: Joan and Neal Allen, Dr. Bruce Bode, Carter and John Hipp, Paula and Jim McDonald, Penn and Net Payne, Andrea and John Pruitt, Debby and Jim Robbins, Laura and Rutherford Seydel, Barbara and Byron Williams and most recently, Kris Bagwell.

This May, the Georgia Chapter is pleased to recognize Donna and Andy Cash for over a decade of exceptional service and dedication to JDRF. The Cash family was first introduced to JDRF when their eldest son, Gavin, was diagnosed with T1D at the age of three.  Andy and Donna immediately committed their support to JDRF and its mission, and they have volunteered and contributed on all levels ever since. They have raised significant funds for the Georgia Chapter leading walk team efforts and participating in the Hope Gala in countless capacities. Donna has been an active member of the gala committee, and Andy served a six-year term on the GA Chapter Board and was appointed Board President from 2013-2015. As a couple, Andy and Donna co-chaired the 2012 Hope Gala, setting a gala fundraising record that year. The Cash family’s vested interest in JDRF was heightened in the fall of 2011 when their youngest son, Liam, was also diagnosed with T1D at the age of eight.

Please join the Georgia Chapter, along with co-chairs Cathy Wood and Bruce Bode, MD and Carolina and Tom Branch, MD,  on May 6th as we honor and congratulate Donna and Andy Cash for the significant impact they have made on behalf of JDRF and its mission to eradicate T1D.
