November Blog Highlights
JDRF advocates were hard at work during the National Diabetes Awareness Month! Check out what you may have missed:
- Our advocates banded together across the country to make our Type 1 talk event on November 14 a successful event! In the weeks prior to the event, Melissa used the JDRF Advocacy blog to announce the presenters and provide broadcast details. Type 1 talk host Jennifer Runyon also told us why she decided to host an event.
Did you watch the Type 1 Talk presentation? If so, please be sure to leave us your feedback on Melissa’s follow up blog post. You can also suggest changes to the Type 1 talk program here!
- An important public meeting about artificial pancreas technologies with the FDA and the NIH also occurred this month. Campbell provided a brief overview of the meeting and asked for your feedback. She also shared the perspective of a patient that spoke at the meeting. Tell us why an artificial pancreas is important to you at our APP Tell Your Story site!
- November also brought us a call-to-action for the renewal of the Special Diabetes Program. Thank you to those of you that participated, and stay tuned for one more activation before the end of the year!
- Diabetes bloggers took to the web to to post their “six things we want people to know about diabetes.” Our Chair of Grassroots Advocacy, Lorraine Stiehl, joined in on the JDRF Advocacy blog. Tell us the six things you want people to know by leaving a note in the comments section!
- Right before Thanksgiving, Lorraine also took the time to share her diabetes blessing. Also, check out the video message of thanks from staff members Cynthia Rice and Mike Kondratick!
Keep reading the JDRF Advocacy blog throughout December for important news on the renewal of the Special Diabetes Program. As always, please feel free to leave a question to comment for me below.
Have a happy holiday season!
