It’s Been a Busy Week for the Artificial Pancreas Campaign!

We’ve had quite a busy and exciting week involving the artificial pancreas campaign!

As you know, JDRF has been
leading a campaign to ensure that the FDA releases a clear and reasonable
artificial pancreas guidance document by December 1st that
incorporates recommendations from the clinical community.  In addition to
the petition we’ve been circulating for the past few weeks, we held a press
conference
on Capitol Hill yesterday afternoon with Members of Congress,
diabetes clinicians and people with type 1 diabetes, and published an ad in The
Washington Post
and The
New York Times
underscoring why FDA needs to act.

During the press conference
we were able to share an exciting announcement about the petition:

WE’VE
HAD OVER 100,000 PEOPLE SIGN-ON!

The speakers at the press
conference spoke in front of a banner celebrating this achievement.

L-R: Cynthia Rice, Dr. Eric
Orzeck, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Caitlin Ryan, Senator Susan Collins, Michelle
Mundt.

We were thrilled to highlight just how much
support we’ve received from advocates like you, and all in less than one
month’s time.  We greatly appreciate all of your support these past few
weeks and hope that you’ll stay tuned and continue to work with us as we move
forward in this campaign.
