Continue NIH Research like the Artificial Pancreas

Good Thursday to you and hope you had a chance to follow
along our #JDRFGovDay
efforts on Twitter
earlier this week. Volunteer JDRF Advocacy leaders were on Capitol Hill on Monday
and Tuesday to ask Congress to support a letter issued to the congressional
leadership by the House and Senate caucuses on Diabetes. This letter asks the
leadership to acknowledge the important contributions of the Special Diabetes
Program (SDP), read the Senate
and House
versions.

You can help continue our 2012 Government Day advocacy
effort by joining our call-to-action that we’ll send via email later today, you
can sign
up here
to receive that email.

The SDP has been critical in advancing cure, treat and
prevention research for T1D; including the testing of technologies like the
continuous glucose monitor and now, artificial pancreas systems. The call-to-action
will ask you to send an email to your Members of Congress asking that they also
acknowledge the contributions of the SDP and sign the letter in support.
