The Friday Five, Nov. 8

Hi Friends!

This week we are dedicating The Friday Five to Friends & Family. Supporting those you love who have or were diagnosed with T1D, is so important for day-to-day management of a very emotional disease.

T1D For a Day
If you haven’t done so already, please be sure to invite your friends and family to experience what it’s like to live with T1D, by signing up for the T1D for a day text challenge, presented by Lilly Diabetes  (#T1D4ADAY) and writing their experience on TypeOneNation. Click here for more information

T1D Tuesday
All month we will be featuring friends and family members of those who have T1D and what it’s like to live with a person with diabetes. Last week we featured Michael Bush, husband of our community manager Gina Capone on the T1D Tuesday blog. See his incredibly sweet post about his wife here.

Educating others about T1D
If you need help explaining T1D in a fun and humorous and non-threatening way to your friends, co-workers and others, check out our resource center.  Here you can find information that can be printed, emailed and posted on your social media channels.

Siblings
If you have siblings with T1D, and want to talk to others about what it is like, join the sibling group where you will be able to share your thoughts and concerns here.

Advocacy
Did you know that friends and family can also become JDRF Advocates? Be the type to take action, and help to renew the Special Diabetes Program funding. (SDP) Sign up here and to find out more information.

Happy Friday!
