The JDRF Real Estate Games is an annual fundraiser sponsored by the Washington, DC area commercial real estate community to benefit the JDRF Capital Chapter. For over 30 years, the commercial real estate industry has joined together to fund life-changing type 1 diabetes (T1D) research during a day of friendly competition in over 60 sporting events.

With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing the Real Estate Games to be postponed, the real estate community understood the importance of continuing their efforts to keep critical T1D research moving forward and preventing the lapse of life-changing clinical trials. Real Estate Games Honorary Chair Brendan Owen (Newmark Knight Frank) along with Co-Chairs, Charlie Smiroldo (Stream Realty Partners), Devon Munos (Savills) and Ned Welbourn (CBRE), initiated a reimagined campaign that acknowledges the high-spirited, competitive momentum that the Real Estate Games has built over the past 30 years. Said Mr. Owen,

“As individuals, families, and local businesses, we have endured an unprecedented crisis with the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever it is important to our community that the JDRF Real Estate Games continues as a symbol of the commercial real estate industry’s collective strength and its commitment to ending T1D.”

Companies and individuals in the commercial real estate industry are invited to create a fundraising page and launch an internal campaign with employees and their families, clients, and vendors. The goal is to raise $125,000 through the Your Way campaign between now and June 4th – the original date set for the 2020 Real Estate Games.
