Last week, 175 passionate advocacy volunteers from across the country stormed Capitol Hill to conduct nearly 500 meetings with Members of Congress and their staff as part of JDRF 2019 Government Day.

Angus McDonald, a JDRF Coastal Carolina Chapter Board Member and father of a T1D, was one of those participants. He and the others shared their personal T1D stories and spoke about the critical need for research funding through the Special Diabetes Program (SDP), insulin affordability and choice of diabetes management tools, protections for those with pre-existing conditions, and continued robust funding for the NIH and FDA.
