The Nevada Chapter Volunteer of the Month program is sponsored by our community partners at Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers. Each month we highlight one of our fabulous chapter volunteers and that volunteer will receive gift cards for free meals from Raising Cane’s.

We are pleased to announce our Raising Canes Volunteers of the Month for this month are the Johnson Family.

Dan and Monica have volunteered with JDRF since their daughter Daniela was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. This year, much like many years past, they were instrumental in the success of the JDRF One Walk in Las Vegas.

Monica and Daniela volunteered in the office multiple days in the weeks leading up to Cork & Soul and the JDRF One Walk. In preparation for Cork & Soul, they tied hundreds of ribbons on gifts for our guests and prepared hundreds of goody bags for the VIP guests. They were instrumental in packing up the supplies for Cork & Soul and loading them onto our truck to set up at Tivoli Village. Dan was also in charge of the bar in the VIP area during the event. The Johnson family were the first ones on site to set up at Cork & Soul and the last to leave at the end of the event.

Once Cork & Soul was finished they helped us with the last minute preparations for the JDRF One Walk. Monica and Daniela met many of our team captains when they came by to pick up the supplies for their teams. They wrote countless thank you cards to our team captains, and prepared the badges for our V1Ps. Once again, their family helped us pack the moving truck with all our supplies and were the first on site to help us set up Friday afternoon and the last group to leave after the walk on Saturday. Dan acted as the Food and Beverage Chair for the JDRF One Walk, and enabled our 4,000 event participants to quickly and easily enjoy the food and drinks donated by Nathan’s Hot Dogs, Sands Cares, and Coca-Cola.
