2019 Vision Gala Honors 13 Stars
Amie Barnard, Maddie Barnard, Duncan Burgess, Melissa Catlett, Alli Christy, Brian Cooper, Matt Edgington, Griffin Kirsch, Hunter Pitts, Cam Rowe, Brenda Grace-Smith, Annie Zucker, and Dr. Jake Zucker.

The 2019 Vision Gala, honoring these exceptional individuals at the Reno Ballroom in the Silver Legacy Resort Casino raised more than $500,000 on April 27th to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications.

Attendees participated in a silent and live auction with the opportunity to bid on items including ski lift tickets, staycations, skincare items, a Dooney & Bourke handbag, and of course the beautiful black lab puppy, Cosmo, who stole the show! Combined, the auctions raised over $120,817!

The chapter was also fortunate to receive a beautiful 1.7 carat heart shaped diamond pendant necklace donated by The Diamond Vault Reno valued at over $17,000! We are excited to announce that the raffle generated $14,000! Thank you all for your generosity and support!

The evening ended with the signature JDRF Fund A Cure, a principal of the JDRF Gala program. Guests raised their bid cards enthusiastically, knowing 100% of all tax-deductible contributions will fund research for JDRFā€™s most crucial research priorities.

JDRF Northern Nevada gratefully acknowledges its event partners including: Blanchard, Krasner, & French, The Diamond Vault-Reno, The Row, Gerhardt & Berry, Kiley Ranch, MicroMetl, Tamarack Junction, and Manpower.

Thank you to our amazing honorees as well as Silver Legacy Resort, Kelli Cooper, Michelle Christy, Milly Duncan-Burgess, our entire auction committee, our dedicated volunteers, donors, and attendees. We are eternally grateful for your contributions to our success, and we look forward to the day when JDRF can proclaim, Type One is now Type None!
